The 50-hour Medical Administrative Assistant Program prepares students to pursue entry-level positions in the Medical Administrative Assistant field. Program includes communication techniques, professional behavior in the
workplace, appointment scheduling, medical records, HIPAA review, medical abbreviations and symbols, and other duties required of a Medical Office Professional.
Note: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Healthcareer Associate (NHA) – Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam (CMAA). The cost for the national exam ($115) is not included in the
Clinical Externship: Students who successfully pass the 50-hour program may elect to participate in the optional 40-hour externship to gain hands on experience in a medical office/facility. Students are responsible for background
check, drug screening and other fee requirements for the externship.
