The Self-Directed, On-Line Pharmacy Technician Program teaches the skills needed to pursue
an entry- level position in the Pharmacy Technician field. Topics includes the role of the
pharmacy technician, measures and abbreviations, review of drugs, basic biopharmaceuticals,
dosage forms, patient profiles, basics of IV solutions, calculating solutions, and TPN.
Note: Upon successful completion of the programs, students are eligible to sit for the
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam to become a Certified Pharmacy
Technician (CPhT). The cost of the exam is not included in the fee.
Clinical Externship: Students who successfully pass the program may elect to participate in the
optional 80-hour externship to gain hands on experience in a Pharmacy. Students are
responsible for any background check, drug screening and other fee requirements for the
externship.
Students have up to 6 months to complete this self-directed program. Program is 100% on-
line.
Fee included textbooks. Students will be issued electronic textbooks (eTextbooks).
Students may register and start the Self-Directed, On-Line Programs at any time.
There are no refunds offered with the Self-Directed, On-Line Programs.
